Bower ANP53072 Conversion Adapter Tube for Nikon Coolpix P530 & L830 Camera (72mm) with 3 UV/CPL/ND8 Filters + Lens Hood + Accessory Kit

The adapter works well with my Coolpix L830, when you must consider the limitations. I needed a 72mm to 58mm step down ring adapter to use my old Canon 1.5X telephoto which has 58mm threads. It truly extends the power of the zoom of my L830 by an additional 1.5X magnification. Be aware that you will have vignetting or "tunnel vision" below about 1/3 of the total zoom travel, due to the tube extension interfering with the wider angle portion of the zoom. When you unscrew the extension part of the adapter and have just the 72mm mounting section attached to the camera, all is well with using the full zoom capability of the camera. The filters cannot be used without the extension attached, and losing the lower 1/3 of the zoom due to vignetting interference of the extension tube. Otherwise the extension tube is well made with 3 set screws squeezing a brass inner ring around the camera body, outside of the zoom lens movement, leaving no damage at all to the camera. Carefully tighten the set screws a little at a time rotating between the three set screws. Do not tighten the set screws excessively as you will still get a solid mounting with minimum torque on the screws. Use your fingers on only the short end of the Allen wrench to do this, with the longer part inserted in the set screws, to minimize excessive torque.

Yes does fit the Nikon Coolpix L840.One thing I don't like:The way the tube attached to the camera means you get a vignette in your pictures when using the longer tube which attaches to hoods and filters. Good for zooming in but not great for upclose.

Returned do to the sleeve is too loose on my Nikon L 830.

Lens has to come out too far to avoid a tunnel vision...........
