Umbrella Parasol Base

Good quality and easy to assemble. We live by the coast so have to tie umbrellas down in wind but this is fine in breeze. Looks good and pleased with it. We paid for 1 day delivery but as the umbrella stand was late requested a refund of this which has , second time of asking, been agreed. Seems DHL do not deliver at weekends and Amazon site did not say next working day.

Nice strong sturdy base, was worried it wouldn't be heavy enough in the wind but does the job perfectly and looks lovely.

This is a secondary adaptation of the parasol base to serve also as a buse for a gardeners' planting pots. How it woorks: Buy a plastic 'Flexitub ' (or other make ) of whatever large conatiner size you want for your plants. Then, using a 4 inch *hole-saw* cut a hole in the middle of the bottom of the felxitub (or other) plastic container. This enables you to place the plastic contaner now over the parasol base vertical tube an let it sit up on the base itself. Stick a tube of suitable size into the parasol base (if needed) and let it serve as the support for tall plants (if needed). Using a 1 inch hole-saw drill an abundance of drain holes in the bottom of the the flexitub for the essential drainage it must have now as a plant container. Fil it with compost and away you go. The weight of the compost will serve as a stabiliser against the wind blowing it over and it can be moved around your garden or patio at will (will need a sutitable hand truck). Being raised off the groung and sitting on the parasol base enables the water to drain away easily within sight of the gardener at watering time - it is essential to provide this drainage to avoid the roots of the plant becoming water logged and rotting as the result. This latter point is a very salient property of this general adaptation of a parsol base to a gardners' plant growing container base. Being raised off the ground and sitting on the parasol base will enable the excess water to run away wthin sight of the gardber person at watering time - a very useful thing to gardners. Very sturdy and fits perfect! Only comment would be that the screw which tightens the pole into the base does scratch/mark the umbrella pole so you may want to put some protection around the pole.

Easy to put together and heavy enough to take the weight of a 3m parasol.
