Analog Joystick Cap - Circle Pad Repair/Replacement Compatible with 3DS - Replace Worn Thumbstick on Nintendo 3DS / 3DS XL (Original Series Only) - Grey

Good product but it isn't the 3ds original, but the new 3ds model instead.

My analog basically crumbled away so I ordered this to replace it, if you have those tiny screwdrivers then you’re sorted. Was really easy to do and now I have a fully functional analog again. Goes nice with the white on the console too.

Product arrived quickly. The stick is slightly smaller than the standard analog stick, but the main failing of this replacement product is that it isn’t rubberised like the OE stick. It’s sprayed in what feels like soft touch paint, but it certainly doesn’t provide a grippy surface for your thumb.

It was not the right thing I needed a thumb joystick for a 2dsxl and this thing was way too small and not what I wanted I did not send it back as two others sent too small also.

Overall it's a very good replacement thumbstick and it does the job nicely. Installation does require opening up the 3DS though. It's not particularly difficult, just make sure you watch a youtube video on how to do it :) The one complaint I would say I have is that it isn't rubberised like the original thumbstick and is a bit harder to the touch. It's not a major problem and you do get used to it quickly, but it's worth mentioning.

Took apart my 3DS XL (very fiddly, lots of minuscule screws) to replace the broken joy con wheel and all pieces back together it works perfectly.

I bought this after the analog stick came apart on my 3DS XL. Quite simple to replace. It did feel a bit unnecessary however to put the item in such a large parcel considering the item is the size of a penny.

A great replacement circle pad cap after the rubber on my old one fell apart on my aging 3DS. I watched a helpful tutorial video on how to install it and have had no issues besides one side of my 3DS feeling looser after disassembly, but that's probably due to the hardware's age as it's a model I've had since its initial launch.
