This is the great era of gourmet food! And only Toriko can hunt down the ferocious ingredients that supply the world's best restaurants. As a Gourmet Hunter, Toriko tracks and defeats the tastiest and most dangerous animals with his bare hands. But has he met his match with an eight-legged alligator the size of a tank? Review: A fun and savory adventure! - Toriko is another series serialized in our monthly Shonen Jump recently that was pretty adventurous. Unlike the other shonen manga it diversifies itself from the others by not having epic and huge fights involving pirates, ninjas, or shinigami (soul reapers) but instead focusing on the world of gourmet and finding all of these delicious and simply stunning foods. It is pretty nice in what it sets out to accomplish because it seems to be something that could be within everyones imagination. Who would not want to live in a house of sweet candy and honey and what not? The cast is currently interesting and keeps me laughing, especially the head chef Komatsu, the hunter Toriko, and other people in the International Gourmet Organization. Rather than spoil the story why not give this volume a try and definitely enjoy it. It is read in the traditional style of most Japanese manga these days read from left to right panel style, there are two bonus fun chapters included and occasional definitions of high level terminology. Review: Toriko - I read the first 3 chapters in Shonen Jump and I can definitely say that it's unique! I've read other mangas that are based on food, but none like this. In a brief summary, Toriko is a gourmet bounty hunter in a world controlled by the desire to acquire the greatest tastes/food. Toriko's goal is to find the best tastes in the world for his full-course menu. On the way, he meets a little chef by the name Komatsu who joins Toriko on his journey. The packaging and condition of the manga was perfect!

"If a plate of food is put in front of me, I won't leave any left even if it kills me." -Toriko There's so much to be learned from Torkio, especially for little kids who won't eat their vegetables. All parents should get a copy.

Toriko is a really good manga I took a chance on it and got the first volume and thoroughly enjoyed it, I enjoyed it so much in fact I brought the rest of the series up to the current volume of 35. It's a really good shoenen that just keeps getting more and more ridiculous but it's a very fun and enjoyable ride. A short copy and pasted synopsis- Toriko is a Gourmet Hunter searching for the most precious foods in the world so he can create his full-course meal. A man with inhuman ability, he utilizes his incredible strength and knowledge of the animal kingdom to capture ferocious, evasive, and rare beasts to further his menu. He is accompanied by the weak and timid chef Komatsu, who, inspired by Toriko's ambition, travels with him to improve his culinary skills and to find rare ingredients. Toriko and his friends often fight against the Gourmet Corps (็พ้ฃๆ Bishoku-kai?), who seek to take control of the world's entire food supply and are looking for the highly sought-after ingredient GOD (GOD๏ผใดใใ๏ผ Goddo?), which the legendary Gourmet Hunter Acacia used to end the war that took place five-hundred years before the series began.

Pleasant surprise!
This reminds me, and as I hoped so, of Hunter X Hunter. I really hope it'll keep its quality story-wise. The art might seem a bit weird if you only look at the volume cover, but really, it has great detail and very creative design.
