Versatile
This camera is a great hybrid photo/video camera. I wish I had gone with the S1R for higher megapixels, but this is still an excellent camera that I won't need to upgrade for years to come.

Best Mirrorless Camera Iโve Purchased!
I am incredibly impressed with this mirrorless, my first professional camera and I am so glad I went with this one! Itโs got quite a weight to it but I absolutely love it! The settings are clear, the lens is understanding to use and just using the product itself is amazing. Best camera I spent by far and canโt wait to use more of it!

no DCI, no A-CF, sluggish autofocus , low battery capacity, bad moire, dust on sensor right away
Lots of m o i r e in pictures!!! It is a no brainer! Chunky batteries, very heavy design. I got dust on the sensor almost every day that have to be removed, otherwise you will see faded areas in your pictures. (This is going automatically by default with Canon or Nikon.) I have lots of moire both in photo and in video mode. This camera obviously doesn't have any anti aliasing filter. I can't film or capture any images with this camera off from books because of the raster dots, or any brick walls. I use to have this problem with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera ten years ago!!! On the top of this, we bought this as our main video camera for documentary films, but it doesn't offer any 4K DCI option, which is really annoying. Also, with the MC21 adapter continuous autofocus is disabled, which makes this camera a real deal-breaker. (Also, with native Panasonic lens the autofocus is more sluggish than with Canon or with Sony ecosystem.) Just beware of these when you would purchase this camera. The battery is below average. I got only 120 shots with the original one. Why has S1/S1R/S1H the worst autofocus in the market? How I could make a lawsuit against Panasonic?

Panasonic has created a great camera in the S1. The IQ/color science, handling, and durably are fantastic, while the menu system is logical.

Love it!
I upgraded from a G9 to this camera to deal with low light issues, and its been a dream to use. If you're familiar with Lumix systems I don't see how you would not be happy with this camera. Though I have to get used to the weight of the camera, it does feel better in my hand and the in-body stabilization is just next level.

Watch out for lens
The camera is a brick but I really liked it until I tested the zoom lens that comes with it, very soft on the edges especially on closeups. Never saw this in the reviews so maybe this was just a bad apple.

Definite upgrade from GH5s
The S1 is definitely an upgrade from the GH5s. There may be more recording features in the GH5s but the full-frame, superb quality, better low light capability, and full VLog makes it all worth it. I upgraded and have not looked back. I believe that Panasonic will release more recording features later. Excellent camera!
