🔋 Grip More. Shoot Longer. Own Every Frame.
The Panasonic Authentic LUMIX S Series Vertical Battery Grip (DMW-BGS1R) is an OEM-approved accessory designed for Lumix S1 and S1R cameras. It extends battery life by holding an additional Panasonic DMW BLJ31 battery, offers enhanced ergonomic handling with a vertical shutter release, and features durable splash, dust, and freeze resistance. Integrated controls replicate camera functions including a joystick and AF ON button, while a Hall IC sensor ensures secure battery door closure for uninterrupted shooting.

Literally the battery life is amazing
For one I love the look and design, but be aware that this does make this already heavy camera, even heavier, but it feels amazing to hold and battery life is superb.

A great accessory, well made... but too expensive for what it does
I have 2x panasonic S1 cameras, and I wanted to buy a battery grip for these babies for a long time. Luckily Amazon sells a few open-boxes or like-new for much cheaper than the original MSRP price that is $350+taxes. So I got myself one of those grips... I'm going wait for a 3rd-party vendor to come with a cheaper version for my 2nd S1 camera. The DMW-BGS1 works fine on the S1 just like the ones that are paired with the GH5/GH5S. It provides the same functionality as for their micro-four thirds counterparts. You get the extra battery life for your camera which allows you to shoot 2x longer at least. It adds quite a lot of weight and bulk to your camera setup as expected, especially when you have an S1 body that is already very heavy and bulky. But it is almost an essential accessory to have as a pro. So you have to buy one when you own a S1 and shoot for extended periods of time all day long and especially for continuous video works. It is very nicely made and fits perfectly below your camera body. The only big downside is that it is so expensive. Panasonic ought to change their strategy with their L-mount cameras, in lieu of charging so much for their lenses and accessories, they should bring down the prices to what competitors charge and allow 3rd party manufacturers to sell these battery grips for much cheaper. It would really boost their sales volume if they sold the S1 body for say $1995, their L-mount lenses for cheaper and battery grip for less than $200.

NOT a battery grip
This only holds one battery. Not sure what the point of a grip is if you cannot put additional batteries in it to expand the power capacity. I know it helps for vertical shooting, but seriously, adding to the battery life of the camera is also essential. I returned it.
