Keeps your pond balanced and clear
These are a little pricey yet add such quality to your pond . Our pond is 7 years old . We have 2 aerators and one fountain. We buy 2 of these and put one each by each aerator . Blues gills are doing great and pond is very clear and clean .

Seems effective. Pricey, and the block can break down to a powder if you store it
Works well, but it's pretty expensive. Our pond is small, and even at twice the recommended dosage, we didn't use it all in one shot. By the time we put in the second dose, the block had broken down to a powder and was much more difficult to get to the places in the pond where we needed it. I'm not sure if this affected it's effectiveness, but we did switch to another slightly cheaper "pellet" brand for easier distribution. If you've never used this type of stuff before, be aware that this is a bacteria, so there is an odor to it.

Best muck reducer for 20+ year old pond
I have treated my 100 x 300 ft. pond for over 20 years. The science of a pond changes with age. I've treated my pond with several muck removers including products from The Pond Guy, Lake Restoration, etc. I've used pellets & packets and algae control totaling over $2k annually. I stared using this muck block and placed a block @ each of my diffusers. (I also raised my diffusers by 12" by tying them to plastic milk crates for best aeration) I added and additional block in the center of my pond every 2 weeks acting like a shocker as you would a pool. MY POND LOOKS MAGNIFICENT.! In some areas of my pond I had muck/sludge up to 12+ inches. NOW IT'S GONE! With the loss of muck, the algae has diminished by 90%. I can't wait to see what my maintenance will look like next year. I used to hire teenagers to rake muck & algae 4x a year and never could get on top of the growth. In addition to the muck block, I occasionally needed to add some cutrine granular and occasional spray cutrine. Now it's about a cutrine application every 30 days (minor application) instead of a major investment weekly. I CAN'T RECOMMED THIS PRODUCT ENOUGH! Also, we have fish and a beach for swimming. SAFE FOR ALL.

Does not dissolve. Verified 3 times!!!
Our 1 acre pond has 2 double diffusers (aerators). We decided to add these bacteria blocks to help with muck reduction. Unfortunately the blocks never dissolved after 2 months sitting in the water close to diffusers. I complained to kasko customer service and they just sent new blocks. I installed replacement blocks, but they also didn’t dissolve after 2 months. I complained to kasko customer service again and got another set of blocks for replacement and they also didn’t dissolve. I went for 3rd circle with the same result :( at this point I’m confident this product is not designed to dissolve. I even directly asked kasko customer service to confirm this product is expected to dissolve in water, but kasko customer service refuse to confirm that just give me link to product booklet. I can bet that all 4 and 5 stars reviewers did not check if blocks dissolve. If block doesn’t dissolve how can it release bacteria to consume organic matter? Another discovery with Kasko customer service - this product packaging does not have manufacturing date or expiration date hence kasko customer service can’t event confirm you purchased product that is not expired. Kasko customer service blame Amazon for keeping their product in Amazon warehouse too long. However, when Kasko sends replacement from Kasko warehouse and can’t proof its fresh product - they just state that Kasko warehouse always has product with valid date. Just nobody can verify that. Stay away from this product - it just waste of time and money. UPDATE: 06/2025: I run experiment over winter months with this product by putting in the basement 2 plastic containers filled with RO water and tree leaves. Left container is control sample (no kasco bacteria) and right container is test sample (added kasco bacteria). After more than 6 months the results shows that control sample decomposed more comparing to test sample. This confirms that kasco bacteria does not help with organic matter decomposition and actually works as preservative and inhibits decomposition rate. You better off not adding this product to your pond water and let natural bacteria perform the work better on its own.

Takes some time to work
Product will definitely work wonders in a farm pond, just not overnite. By patient and be rewarded.

Great product IF it isn’t powder
I’ve used this for years. It is a great product. However, the last two orders were basically powder. This might be from shipping, maybe a decline in quality, but, either way, at this price I cannot continue to buy the product. FYI I did have to speak with support early on and they’re great, so it is a shame to see this happening.

Easy to use but too soon to see results.
Dropped the block into my channel July 1 and it appears to be working as bubbles are coming up in the area. By the end of the month, I will know if it is making a difference.

Muck Block
These seem to last a little longer than the other muck blocks I've purchased for cheaper. Results are slow but water clarity has improved, the water color even seems to be less muddy. (I have used multiple products) I haven't had any damaged ones arrive.
