Ex Nihilo Academy (Ex Nihilo Academy: Book 1) Kindle Edition

I liked the premise of the story; it didn't always go in the direction I wished it would, but I think this author has talent. Lily, the main character, was fairly likable, and while not very mature in the beginning; she grew up a bit by the end of the book. I generally like paranormal academy-type stories, and this one was ok. I am not likely in the target audience for this book, but... I do love a good story.POSSIBLE SPOILER HERE: I did not like the love triangle aspect - those are always a bit boring and usually make the female lead character seem immature and indecisive; although in this story Lily knew exactly what she wanted. Not much training went on in this academy, other than weapons training, and I would like to have seen a lot more of the 'magic' training for Lily and for each of the groups of supernaturals - especially Lily's group; and more 'world-building' particular to their supernatural world.I would recommend this book, and while I was invested enough in the story to look up the author to see if there is a second book ready to read (and there is) the price is higher on the second book than on the first book. So while I am mildly interested in what may happen next...I don't know if I will pay $3 to read the next installment for a book of fewer than 200 pages.

Don't waste the money!! The main person ia just shouting, yelling, can't make a choice . same old over and over again.I would NOT recommend at all. I'm on the last 150 pages and will be glad to be rid of this garbage

This whole book is a cliche but it was enjoyable, it was a quick read and I didn't put it down often. I found some parts poorly written, I like when there is more description, e.g in the book Lily and Rowen were talking casually and then out of nowhere he held her face and kissed her cheek, surely she would've noted how close he was?Nonetheless it was good for a quick read and satisfied my need for some cheesy supernatural romance. Not bad.
