From the Author --------------- I've learned one or two things in my ten years as a parent, each of my children has taught me something new. Something my daughter taught me is that she needed words from me to understand her feelings when she was tired from trying SO hard, but feeling like she wasn't getting anywhere. She was frustrated at swimming, at school, and with some jobs at home I asked her to do. As soon as I started to say things like, "I hope you are proud of yourself, you worked really hard at that", her mindset shifted. Within a few times of me saying things along those lines, she internalized the concept and started telling me that she was proud of herself.
