They do rust from under the lip but this doesn't not affect its use or taste. The lip on the second batch I received is much smoother than the first batch. Drinking water in these, you will taste metal but all these cups probably do the same thing. Originally I got them because I'm tired of cleaning up shards of broken glass/ceramic/melamine off the floor from my kids breaking everything. My kids are 9 and 12, going on 20. I expect these cups to completely outlive me, just like the aluminum cups from the 50's you can still buy on ebay. The only two things I think they could do to improve the product is to #1 lower the price a bit, it's a little over priced and print the ounces it holds on the bottom like they do with their logo. ### ⭐⭐ One fatal flaw *by A***H on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on December 3, 2015* I was really excited to get these cups because they seemed like the last cups that I would ever need. I'm the type of person that will pretty much stick to using my one or two favorite cups and they will be rinsed out immediately after use and put on the drying rack. These cups have one major flaw that just ruins them for me. The lip of the cup is rolled and it acts as a hollow ring that will trap water when then are washed or rinsed and it will remain trapped in there unless one of two things happens. The first is if you rigorously shake the cup to free the water and the second way is when you tilt the cup to drink and the water is able to slide out because of the angle. It was a little strange when it first happened because I thought I had accidentally let some water spill down my chin, but I caught on pretty quickly because it is a VERY common occurrence with these cups. The last straw for me was about 10 minutes ago when I took the seemingly dry cup from the rack, filled it with juice, and my first gulp was tainted by the flavor of the dish water that slipped out from under the hollow lip.
