A: It will but eventually it will break.  My first one broke after about 5 sweet potatoes.  Now I use it for everything but sweet potatoes.

I bought this on a whim and the good reviews, and I absolutely love it! My very favorite thing to use it for is cutting up strawberries for the freezer or for shortcake or ice cream. I just cut off the top, put 2 or 3 on the 1/4" screen and shut the lid. So fast!!!! Chopping onions is a breeze as well. If I have several things to chop I can just leave them in the container, not have piles to mess with on the cutting board. Still experimenting with other things. And by the way, watch your fingers - that cutting section is really sharp!
