Install the aluminum channel, using drywall nails at the studs, and then tape and mud the flanges flush into your wall and you’re done. I used mine under the open bottom of my bathroom vanities as well as behind the toilet, both on separate motion sensing dimmers, and they’re used to provide a gentle illumination to navigate in the dark at night, and I couldn’t be happier.
