When to use and how to use many technical indicators and tools are explained in clear and concise detail. Unlike many similar books, the liberal use of drawings and sample charts had been reviewed to insure clarity and delivery of the message tying together the text and the chart. Because understanding chart reading is applicable across most asset classes such as stocks, commodities, options, ETFs etc, the example charts in this book have a liberal use of various assets such as oil, gold, FX and of course stocks. In addition, liberal reference to applicability of what indicators and tools are used for the various trading styles. For example; day traders, active traders or swing traders as well as long term (buy and hold).Lastly, many other ideas, topics, tips and techniques are included in this book. Such as; ordering types, mental and emotional aspects of trading, trading journals, introduction to options, a glossary and much more.I have found this to be a great book to read and keep for reference. And the ROI on the purchase of this book has been measured in days. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beyond the basics *by B***D on November 25, 2012* In this book, the author expands on basic trading strategies to include more advanced methodologies such as, Fibonacci ratios, Pivot points, cycle analysis in combination with Candlestick charts, and several others. In addition the author uses these techniques in interesting ways. As an example Fibonacci ratio adjustments are used to relate previous stock prices with current ones, and then combined with pivot points to estimate a stock's price inflection point. Cycle analysis is used in conjunction with candlestick charts to predict market turning points etc. I believe that the Fibonacci ratios presentation in the book by Roberts miner "high probability trading strategies" is a more complex expansion on the ideas in this book.The author also discusses the psychological aspects of trading that are quite important to success. Even though there are many books that do this , I felt his guidelines were among the best especially for novice traders that encounter stumbling blocks in their journey to profitable trading. ### ⭐⭐⭐ The promotional pitch reduced the overall rating *by L***N on March 8, 2013* Summary from my full length review - A guided tour on trading with technical tools by a trading veteran. The way the materials are presented makes you feel confident in the techniques but there is a lack of depth. Often mentioned is the online service provided by Mr. Person that makes it feel like he has withhold important clues on using those tools.
