I posted a review of this product, citing that while I like the feel of the keyboard, I was having a lot of connection issues that kept me from really loving it. Within HOURS of posting my review, Anker contacted me and offered to send me a replacement keyboard free of charge. Keep in mind that my warranty was long expired -- I bought this keyboard about 2 years ago.This, by itself was impressive. Some companies seem to have a problem standing by their products when they are still within warranty... and here's one willing to replace a product, no questions asked, while under absolutely zero obligation other than a dissatisfied customer.They have also followed up with me to ask how I am enjoying the new keyboard. Well, I wanted to give it a little bit of time so that I could actually use it for awhile to see if my connection issues were solved.I can happily report that they appear to have been. From an appearance standpoint, the new keyboard is identical. It doesn't appear that they've made any external changes whatsoever. Internally, whether they have upgraded the hardware or programming, or whether my original one was just defective, the difference is drastic. I even tried using them immediately one after the other, in the same app on my iPad, just to do as best a side-by-side comparison as I could. Sure enough, my original keyboard still drops the connection with frustrating frequency... but the new one is stable.As a result, I have upgraded my review from 3 stars to 5, as this product not only does exactly what I wanted it to (now), but Anker's willingness to stand by their product is second to none.***Original review follows (for perspective and because the positive things I wrote still hold true)***I do a lot of writing and wanted something I could easily pair with my iPad for those times when I don't really feel like bringing a laptop along. Yeah, yeah... it may seem weird to say something like that. How much convenience am I really gaining with an iPad and keyboard, versus a laptop? The thing is, slim and lightweight as it is, my laptop is a photo editing beast with a larger screen. It's portable, but not always what I want to lug around.I have owned this for two years now, so I'd say that my experience with it is pretty thorough.Ok, so first the good...This thing feels sturdy. Most surprisingly, this is a good size to type on. Your first thought will be that this will be too small to get used to. But honestly, the key size and spacing isn't really all that far off from my desktop keyboard (except this doesn't have the num keys, of course). So it really is pretty easy to get used to. Also, the keys feel really good. I'm still kind of a mechanical keyboard snob, but as far as chiclet keys go, this gets pretty solid marks from me.The battery life claims seem pretty legitimate. I haven't fully put it to the test, but I've let this keyboard sit for a month at a time or more, switched it on, and it seemed to still be full of life.As far as all of that goes, this keyboard would get a stellar rating from me. But...There's always that pesky "but."The biggest issue I have with this is that it just doesn't seem to want to maintain a stable connection. If I pause for more than a couple of seconds, it will lose communication with my iPad. Tapping the spacebar a couple of times will "wake" it back up, but I shouldn't have to do that. More irritating is when it will lose connection right in the middle of typing, suddenly switching to the iPad on screen keyboard and screwing up my train of thought. I should point out that this isn't such a constant problem that the keyboard is unusable. But it does happen frequently enough to cause frustrations.While I still occasionally wind up using this keyboard, it's this connectivity issue that keeps me from using it as much as I want.Keep in mind that this is my experience with a unit that I purchased two years ago. Anker may very well have updated this to improve the stability. And I certainly hope this is the case, because in all other ways this is a great little device. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best for the price *by W***E on April 27, 2015* The Anker Ultra-Compact Bluetooth KeyboardI was not paid for this reviewThis keyboard could almost not be better. It is a full size keyboard that is still compact, meaning it is full size, minus the number pad on the right side. It’s comfortable to type on for long periods of time, and I have fairly large hands. (And I’m using it right now)The construction and useThe overall construction of the keyboard is very solid, constructed entirely of plastic, but not cheap or flimsy. Nice sounding key press, not too firm, but not too soft either. Not quite on the mechanical keyboards level, but hey, the cheapest mechanical keyboard is almost 90$. The only slight, very slight, annoyance is that if you press too hard on the center of the board, it implodes slightly, barely noticeable and you have to press way harder than average. The Bluetooth could not work better on my Lenovo Ideapad Miix 10 2.Paired the first time no problem and continues to connect every time I turn it on, as I’ve come to expect from Anker. Battery life has been in the excess of two weeks with 2-3 hour daily use.The aestheticThis keyboard looks very nice. I ordered the white matte finish and have had it for a few months now and there is no sign of wear at all. The keyboard has a distinct resemblance to the wireless Apple keyboard, which is nice. The black on white letters are easily visible and are not wearing out after use.Overall, this is a very solid keyboard for the money. I can think of any keyboard within this price range that can offer as much as this can, and work this well. This is a great value for the money.Pros and ConsProsBattery life – This battery has, mine at least, exceed what it was rated at, I’ve only charged this a dfew times in the months I’ve had it.Flawless functionality – I have had zero problems installing and using this keyboard, near perfect software execution.Compactness – This keyboard fits into my backpack and briefcase beautifully, if you’re on the go, you can’t beat this.ConsF2 & F3 – I cannot figure out how to reprogram the F2 and F3 keys, which default as screen brightness up and down, and they don’t work. I am running legit Windows 8 and the keys have zero function. Would like to see this fixed.Face incline – I would like to see more of an incline on the top of the board, it seems kind of flat to me, but this is fairly subjective.
