I also have arthritic knee pain. Pain is often so intense I can barely walk. Pain meds aren’t very effective, and I refuse to take strong opioid pain killers.I’d just read an article about the benefits of light therapy for pain so I looked into it and found this one on Amazon. Obviously I decided to try it.It’s easy to operate, it’s silent, and it’s painless. There are three settings for light intensity: high, medium, and low. There are four timer settings: five, ten, fifteen, and twenty minutes.Instructions are to start small then increase time and intensity. It also states not for use on dark skin or “hair” — no further explanation provided.I used it first time when my ankles were throbbing. I used the lowest setting for five minutes and was impressed that the pain subsided substantially by the end of the five minute session. The other ankle yielded similar results.Instructions are to use the light therapy two or three times daily. While I haven’t had time to set up a schedule to do that (but I will) it makes sense that repeated treatments would be beneficial.I gave it four stars instead of five because the pain comes back, sometimes soon after treatment although not as intense. No doubt persistence would be the key to prolonged relief.Overall, I’m satisfied with it, and I have received pain relief.It charges via included AC cord. Care should be taken not to look directly at the red light, or shine it into the eyes of others, including those of pets.If you have intense pain I recommend you try it. Good luck. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ WOW! (2-5 AM) went from a 9 to a 1 or 2! I find it better to use it 2 times per day, but 1 time even makes a difference. This is life changing for me, and no more getting out of bed to take ibuprophen that only lasts a couple of hours and is hard on your kidneys!
