Built like a tank. *by J***. on January 12, 2017* So far I'm very happy with this "wet dispenser"... It's not hard figuring out the tape path like some make it sound. I choose this product because of the "wetter applied!" ;). That's the method which water is added to the underside of the tape. This unit has what I could describe as a... 3" paint brush with the handle cut off. Then turn it upside down into the water and pull the tape over it... the method works... I think there might be better and Ill try one of the different ones in a couple of weeks. As for the cutter... IT'S SHARP! Don't try giving yourself a manicure with this. It'll get you! I have learned (if I want a real good length of tape to hold, I use the back of one of mu fingers while pulling the tape with the other..I took a star off because the "wetter, cutter, tape platen" all are held down my way of a "snap clip" and some tiny thumb screws. I like the screws idea, butt what I'm going to do is "drill and tap" a set of holes for me to "RE-screw" them into after removing them from the platen. I just dont think need to come off and on each time you fill the tank or clean the brush... over I give it a solid 4! I was up and running in minutes and the water tank is very large and easy to fill to keep on going box after box.If you are thinking about trying out water activated tape or ready to move up from acrylic or mot melt tape this dispenser is the best version you could buy for the price.It evenly coats the tape with enough water and completely side to side with one pull. Theres no need to go back with water in your hand to brush on more water like cheaper models.The blade is very sharp and cuts though reinforced tape with no issues.It is well worth the investment if you can get a roll of water activated tape at a reasonable price. It makes your boxes look cleaner and stronger too.
