For instance, if you are trying to get an idea of how your putt will break in the final 12 - 24 inches before your ball reaches the hole then place this device in that location between the hole and the ball. If you believe you are looking at a "double-break" putt and want to confirm your opinion then position this device in the locations of those breaks and take readings.
