I developed painful areas on my foot sole where the metarsals connect. The podiatrist said the joint connection was inflamed from hitting the hard tile. I needed some sort of cushion so I bought this. Very easy to trim to size. In fact, I am now thinking of making my own slippers. This would be easy to sew into them. It is not slippery at all. My feet would stick to this product without socks. It needs a layer of material between this and skin surfaces. I haven't tried it as an outer sole yet but it should work well with a strong grip on surfaces. Review: Great for Cosplay Builds - I would recommend this foam for the advanced or experienced builder-this is a more challenging foam due to the rigid nature of the material. That being said, I just ordered two more rolls based on my original purchase experience. While I recommend entry-level cosplay builders start with easier material, this EVA foam is pretty incredible. This foam is dense enough to shape with a heat gun, sculpt and detail with a rotary tool, and maintain both a sturdy feel, and light weight.
