I use them for everyday use and I always hand wash them so I can't speak for dishwasher cleaning. One of the plates arrived with a small bit of paint missing in the exact center of the dinner plate but everything else is fine. I do find that the plates get quite hot in the microwave after a few minutes but perhaps that is normal. I have used the set for about 2 months now and none of the designs have faded. The plates that end up on the bottom in the cabinet show a little wear now as I don't have the space to store them individually in a vertical position. This set works well for an everyday set and it is still attractive. The colors and design are as advertised.
