My problem was I had a bad tube in my preamp. This is my third set of these cables. The first set I purchased from Sennheiser for double the money and they are the same. I won’t be doing that again and I haven’t. These cables are coiled but they have a lot of stretchability to them. This gives them an extended length of a don’t know maybe 6 feet but then you are really pulling on the connections at the headphone which is not really good. My last problem involved a bad tube on my preamp. So I really didn’t need the last pair of cables that I purchased. But that’s OK I will get around to marring or breaking these cables in the next year or two anyway so it’s always good to have a spare set for this price. I use these for my Sennheiser HD 250 Linear II Headphones which I’ve owned for 20 years. These cables still give the audio reproduction of a new set of phones and they still sound great with these cables. I was so wrong. First, they are heavy, so you will definitely start to feel your neck sore by wearing them for 15-20 mins. But trying to put that aside a month into having it installed, the audio started to go out. I thought it was only the cable itself, and I didn't mind it at first, but after a few more months, it was starting to be obnoxious to the point that I switched back to the original cable. Once I installed the original cable, the audio was still out; I had to keep adjusting the cable connection that goes directly to the ear because now the entrance is permanently damaged.
