So you push the air around, and not your hair. Took about 15 minutes to assemble; it's pretty straightforward. note that the nut on the fan motor turns CLOCKWISE to remove. It's printed on there, but i didn't see it until struggling with it for a few minutes. the remote works great. it needs 2 AAA batteries that are not included. Not a problem at my house. Quiet operation, good for a large room - it's going in my wife's classroom.
