Shop would charge $200 minimum if I trailered to them. And would not see mower for a month. Need it now the most as I use it to mulch bag fall leaves. Could not find Husqvarna part number needed, ordered these with 50% chance would fit. Removed wheel with missing bushing, inserted one from this kit, slid right into the hub! Not to loose, not to tight on outside end. Did not know how to remove original from other side of wheel?? Noticed a lip on other side when looking at inside. Took long sturdy blade screwdriver and plastic handle and tap tap tap. Flipped over and could see it budged. Kept working from inside until original one popped out. Removed wheel and polished axle rod with fine steel wool and silicone spray. Cleaned right up. Sprayed parts with silicone and everything went together nicely. Seem to be well made with hard plastic inserts. Much better than the stock hubs and fill large cavity with grease. When you remove the old ones, save one of the larger outer washers. The parts included have a smaller washer that goes inside hub where wheel slides into. I left original in place. Then place wheel on and push all the way seated. Now put the one larger washer you saved, then the kits large, then small onto axle rod. If you push, there will be the grove for the lock nut that slides onto the rod and into the slot for it. With the extra washer, the wheel rolls very easily and has almost zero wobbles. Took the chance and I am not mechanically inclined. Just observed parts as I removed them. I sprayed everything with silicone just to make things easier to install or remove if ever needed. For $20 and 1/2hr time, the new front bearings were installed on both wheels. After you push on the rubber axle covers, hit them lightly with heating gun or hair dryer to tighten them up. I purchased a 2nd set, not knowing if these would work. Glad that I will have a spare set. Might order another 2nd backup set for $20. Cant hurt to have on hand. The originals lasted 9 years and I keep them what I thought was properly lubed. But the inside where the axle rod is would take alot of grease to fill. They were dry so I am looking forward to these greaseless bearings. If it fit my Husqvarna YTH24K48, the set will fit any Husqvarna made in last 10 years. Same wheels, different deck or engine but wheels the same. Great buy, time will tell how well the plastic greaseless hold up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly for Ariens 96046001 *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2020* I have the Ariens 96046001 42 inch riding lanw mower. This mower is 10 years old now and still cuts the grass very well. The only real issue was the bearings for the front wheels had wore slap out. Not knowing at the time that even new mowers do not have bearings in the front wheels, I went to my local big box store to purchase a new rider. Every one of the 3 brands they had had loose front wheels! You would think that for $2500 you would at least get wheels that won't fall off. So, I did some research and found the new bushings on the Sears website, copied the part number and searched here. What I found was this bearing set. Half the price of the cheap inserts that wear out.To replace your old bushing you will need to jack the front of the mower up. Use a set of pliers and remove the plastic covers. Use a flat blade screwdriver and remove the retaining clip. Then simply pull the wheels off. Before you knock your old bushings out, make sure you clean the grease out. There are two flats on those old bushings and if you beat a punch there you run the risk off putting a hole in the rim itself. My bushings came out fairly easily. I cleaned the inside of the wheel and used the wooden handle of the hammer to knock the new bearings in. All that is left is to clean your axle shafts and put your wheels back on and determine if you need to use both the small washers along with the large one before putting the new retainer clip back on. I ended up using all the spacers for my rider. I replaced the bearing cap and gave the wheels a good shake. Nice and tight! Took a trip around the yard and it's like a new mower. Steers better and rides better. These bearings literally saved me $2500! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy install with new wheels. You might have to sand a new spindle a bit to provide clearance. One side was effortless but on side had too much powder coating. This is a reflection on the spindle not bearing.
