I use these inside my house cause a soon as you sit down at cat was knocking wanting in. So to make things easier we put a cat door on almost every door. We also used one in our window for the cats to go into our cattery we built for them. The way into it is threw a window, we clean it from the outside. The cat door makes it so we can leave it open year round. We can also lock it when we want to or make it were they can go in but not out. The switch is on the bottom of the door. The little "fur" looking edging on the door tried to come off upon opening, but stuck right back on and has been functioning fine!
