They are designed to do what the manufacturer claims they can do IF the blades are used properly. Here are two responses to poor reviews.First, other reviewers apparently think they can cut masonry, cement board or other such products with these blades. These blades are not designed for such materials, and the manufacturer does not claim that the blades will cut these products. Please, stop leaving poor reviews based on your own misuse. Instead, purchase an abrasive blade that claims to cut masonry-like products.Second, other reviewers complain that these blades dull on screws. I understand the confusion, since the description says hard metals. However, these blades can cut nails, not screws. Nails metallic composition is not the same as screws. Framing nails are designed to prevent lateral shearing. Nails typically bend (are more malleable) rather than break. Screws are more brittle. If you hammer a screw over while its in a board, the screw will typically break. Screws are designed to pull things together, not prevent lateral shear. Because of the difference in malleability, blades like these will not cut screws, but they will cut nails fairly easily. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth every penny for Rockwell owners *by A***D on November 22, 2020* Remodeling can sometimes throw wild curves. Within a vaulted ceiling I had come across sistered (double thick) 2x6 rafter bracing that needed to be trimmed to make clearance for a new skylight.With no room for anything but an oscillating saw this extra long blade provided the depth needed to get through the 3 inch thickness of the bracing.I'm so glad I chose the Rockwell F80... it has an oscillating amount setting for Metal (3. 4 Degrees) or Wood (5 degrees). Using the Metal setting with this extra long blade made it move back-and-forth about the same amount as a short blade on Wood setting. I had good control and was able to cut super deep with ease.This EZARC Long Cut Saw Blade saved the day for me.-BTW- I wouldn't use a wood blade on nails, even if the maker says it's okay. Metal only blades and carbide blades can make it through nails without disappointment.-Learned safety tip: I plastic bagged my oscillating tool before working in the ceiling where I had previously removed fiberglass insulation. I used a 2 gallon food bag (since it was handy) and just poked only the blade through and then (with my mask on) started cutting. The plastic bag kept the motor's fan from blowing fiberglass insulation dust all over me.-Learned safety tip: I really hate working around fiberglass insulation. I HEPA vacuumed (shop vac w/HEPA filter and HEPA bag) the area first and then used Zinsser spray can shellac (stinky but dries in seconds) to mist the area. This will bind some of the remaining dust and also make some loose fibers bulkier. Cheap hair spray like Aqua Net might work too, next time I'm trying that I just didn't have any on hand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ They are shorter now, same price *by A***N on May 30, 2024* Ive been purchasing these for years , the best all around blade. It is easy to control, cuts through nails, great on pvc. But my last order was different, they are much shorter than prior.
