Review: Good quality - Used on bedside lamp cable that had an existing rocker switch but it was sealed and needed to extend the length. These were fitted to longer length and work well. Opted for black to suit cable. Very good quality for small price.
Review: Good design but challenging! - These are well made and conform to their rating. They are rated at 6 amps and can just manage 0.75mm flexible cable. They have reversible cable clamps and female screw terminals. I have just wired two of them with 0.75mm cloth covered cable, one modern double sheathed and fatter, one vintage. They are two pole isolating switches, ideal for vintage toasters and things with accessible live parts. (which of course, should not exist!). They have earth feed through. No sign of overheating with 2A current: I do wonder if 6A might be. little ambitious. They are small and quite fiddly to wire: the secret is to get every wire exactly the right length and stripped precisely. Those two pictured took me 90 minutes in total, but I did have to use heat shrink sleeving to avoid the fabric covers from unravelling. They do the job well, are small and neat and well designed, but you do have to be very careful and very patient!

**Q: Does this take 3 core wire or just 2 core?**
A: it can take 3 core too as there is screw in terminal for earth wire at the side of the switch .

**Q: In response to request for clarification. does this dimmer truncate the trailing edge of the ac wave as required for led bulbs to work?**
A: Hi, This dimmer is a trailing edge dimmer. Trailing edge dimmers work by cuting out the second half of each AC waves’ half cycle. 
These are now the more common type of dimmer as they are generally compatible with dimmable LED lamps - however not all LED lamps are dimmable or compatible with trailing edge dimmers so you would need to check if the lamp is compatible.

**Q: Would this dimmer be suitable with 25 x 1w led bulbs on a cord?**
A: In theory this should be ok, however it depends on the inrush current of the lamps when you first switch them on. LED lamps always pull more current when they initially are turned on, so this has been tested and rated at up to 25W if using a single LED lamp, however without knowing the inrush current of the lamps you intend to use it may stress the dimmer. 
It may be safer to contact an electrician who will be able to test the initial inrush current.

**Q: Is this product suitable in bathrooms e.g. for a bathroom cabinet?**
A: I wouldn’t use in a bathroom
More suitable for e.g. bedside light

Bought this to repair a lamp. It's nice to use and has a good positive feel in operation. It was however a bit of a struggle to fit, then again you only fit it once but you use a lot, so it's a reasonable trade off as between wire tension management, terminals that stay connected, and positive operation its hard to make a quality, compact switch without it being a bit fiddly to fit.
