The black brushed metal surface is very elegant, the door has a slow-self-close action to it, but still opens quite easily\quickly. Also.. during installation time. Cutting the hole in the table was a bit nerve-racking, so as not to make any un-intentional scratches or stray cuts. The bottom of the box (part that slides through the table-top) has curved corners. Those were quite tricky to chip and sand out in order to ensure a snug fit.
