Actually at 600 dollars these would be a good buy in my opinion. I compared these to my alpha binocs and these have great brightness,clarity,depth of field and width of field. They look nice, they feel nice and when you look through them you almost think you are looking through binoculars that would sell for 3 times what these do. The lenses are clear to about 70-80 percent of the edges and they just soften to the edges. I don't notice this when looking through them. The focus feels smooth, quick and accurate. Way too good and that's why I will keep them.You wont regret this pair.**6 months later I feel the same and would like to add that the coatings on these binoculars are the very best and literally arrest chromatic aberrations. Side by side with the Meopta Meopro HD's these Hawkes showed almost zero reflections or light abberations in the lenses with the morning sun shining in the objectives. The Meopros were horrible and the lenses literally lit up around the outside 30-40 percent. IMO the Meopros have great glass and terrible coatings.
