    So far not impressed

Let me first say that I have used many Hatchbox spools of 3D filament, most of which have been in PLA, ABS, and PETG. That was one of the reasons I purchased this particular product to begin with, I've traditionally had huge success with their filaments and getting good results. My printer is a Prusa MK3 MMU 2.0 for reference with several hundred hours of printing in PLA, ABS, PETG, and some proprietaries like wood, metal, etc.I purchased this particular product because I am printing a part that is rather large taking up almost the entire bed and needs to be both accurate and handle wear and tear as it is a mechanical part. After several issues with PLA and PETG warping just enough to cause problems, I decided to purchase this PA as it was recommended as a lesser warp filament.Product arrived just fine, typical Hatchbox packaging, however, I ran into an issue right away in that the box and the website description give two different setting recommendations, so I ended up trying both (and quite a few others). That's where it falls apart...literally. So far with all the settings set from both the box and from the website description I cannot get this filament to pass the first layer print test that is built in on the Prusa. This test for those of you who do not have a Prusa prints a very fine line of filament in a back and forth motion across the bed like it was navigating a city street to get somewhere. At the end it flips over to a back and forth touching pattern that leaves you with a "flag" of filament that is supposed to be consistent, sharp edges, and stick together and not pull apart. This test is really for adjusting the Z access to get the best consistency when changing spools and/or media so that the printer prints well. I have not been able to get past this test. When I print and using WIDE ranges of z-axis settings to make the layer thicker and thinner, I am getting literal bubbles/spittle coming out, almost like it's too hot...or maybe not enough? This in turn means that the line it's printing is more like dashes and is absolutely horrible from a testing perspective. Keep in mind, I have somewhere around 20 other spools of various materials in many other vendors, types, ages, etc. All kept in dry, nice conditions for printing. This one is fresh out of the bag so I'm pretty sure it's not moisture. I've tried various temperatures on both the extruder and the bed to no success.I'm not giving up on this yet, however, I have a strong feeling this is a rather new product and if they would just make the instructions more clear maybe there is an aha in there that will make this work well. if so, I'll modify my score, however, as it is, it's a 2 star filament to me.

    No issues so far

Bought this filament as I wanted to print some more durable items on my Qidi X-One2. The X-One has a max print temp of 250c so I'm limited on the materials I can print. So far so good, I've done one test print and am currently printing some parts I needed. I originally planned to print some gears but this nylon feels a little soft/flexible. It is also pretty easy to cut with a razor blade. Fortunately, I have some other parts that need the fixability. No warping or adhesion issues at all but I’ve only gone up to 12mm high. There is a small amount of shrinkage compared to PLA. First print was strait out of the sealed bag with no dehumidifying. I’m storing the filament in a sealed container with desiccantPrint setup:X-one2 with Micro Swiss MK10 All Metal hotendHotend temp: 210Bed Temp: 1st layer 90c then 75cFan: OffRetraction .3mmLayer height: .1mmSpeed 50mm/s

Too pricey for what it is/does

*by P***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2021*

Well, was hoping for something better than ABS, but this isn't it. So far I've printed at 240 & 270C and still the bond line will break apart with minimal force, not even close to ABS strong. Granted at 270 it was better, but nothing like nylon would react to mechanical stress. Between filament strand bond line was weaker as it got taller. Running tension along the length of the filament was much stronger as expected. Who knows what the magic number is for this stuff. I suppose if they sent me a free roll to figure it out, I probably would invest the time. Ran on a Qidi X-Pro with tech support from Judy...who is A+ in my book
