It plays them in order by the sequence they were uploaded in **Q: how loud is the sound?** A: It can be made to be pretty loud if you want! The volume level really depends on how loud your sound files are. If you want them louder (or quieter) you can adjust the volume of your individual sound files with a tool we have in our sound center. It depends on the sound file, but most sounds can be made louder than would be appropriate in a normal office setting. We have had to make some of our own recording quieter because they were just too loud for the office **Q: Can it hold one audio file that is about a minute and a half long ? Will it be able to play the whole thing ?** A: The storage capacity of the usb drive is about 8 MB. I would estimate about 2 MB for a 1 minute recording. You would be able to tell exactly after you have made the recording and then check on the file size. If the file size is less than 8 MB then it will fit and will play all the way through. I put 108 sound clips on mine from my favorite TV Shows and movies and still can fit a few more. The clips are reproduced clearly on the speaker- if your file is clear, it sounds pretty darn good. My only suggestion would be to add a volume control as it is quite loud. - I actually took mine apart and installed a volume control from a broken radio I had laying around.
