It is very convenient and love all the extra information--tips to use, oils in blends listed in Appendix, then singles listed and the blends and products it is in. The book is indexed by ailment is great for quick reference. Ex: Colds: suggestions--RC, etc. It does have small print, so if you have problems with small print get the Bigger one.I think I prefer the new version as compared to the 2012 edition. It has the most popular oil listed first to use on the recommendations. It also has convenient icons next to the oils recommended on how to use it in the 13th edition (2012). A- Aromatic, D- Diffuse, T- Topically.Great for travel. A real learning guide.It does recommend Young Living oils because health food store oils have chemicals and should not be used (warnings on health food store bottles) to get relief from any ailments. Young Living oils are 100% pure (no warning labels)therapeutic grade essential oils, so you can use them as the book suggests and get great results. I use the book and the oils. I disagree with other reviewer. I used previous oil brands in soap making (almost 13 years) and I can tell a REAL difference in concentration and how my nose can tell a difference NOW--and my skin. I have very sensitive skin, and I use the Young Living oils==all ways suggested and some internally, too. And I absolutely love this book. I carry it around in my purse in case I need to look something up. I'm sharing the info with my family and friends . It's so chocked full of great tips and info. Invaluable ! I used lavender oil on a burn I received last week when I splashed scalding water on my forearm. The burn was a 1 1/2 inch square wound. Ouch ! I immediately put lavender on it. Then every hour after that I applied more , for a total of 5 applications that evening . It never hurt after I started using the oil . And it never blistered . The next day the burn was drying up already, just a little pink, but it never hurt. I made sure I still used the lavender 3 to 4 times a day. By the 4th day it the burn was almost gone. Oils are truly amazing. This little book is a wealth of information. I recommend it to anyone who isjust starting to use essential oils. I say almost as I couldn't find the much larger version with individual explanations of what the oils can be used for.. (For instance i bought lemon oil for a mix & wanted to know what it could be used for on its own). However there are things in this book that are not In the large reference book. This is perfect for me and quick referencing things I want to know..
