This is one of the best backpacks I've used for both gym and travel. I was looking for something that had a separate shoe compartment, chest strap, multiple compartments, including one for a laptop,and something that was big enough to carry a change of clothes and toiletries. It also had to look fairly professional since I work out right before work and commute through the city. It was unbelievably hard to find one that fit all my requirements until I found this one.This backpack is near perfect. The all black looks sleek and understated, it has multiple handles on the top, side, and bottom for easy access. The straps feel comfortable and sturdy, and the chest strap takes some of the load off my back. The shoe compartment is roomy enough to hold a pair of ankle boots, and the pocket in the top flap holds little things I want easy access to. I love that the flap covers a large compartment that zips all the way open so I can see everything in my bag and organize accordingly, instead of shoving things toward the bottom. The inside has two pockets on the side that hold a lock and some extra toiletries, and the zipper flat has a mesh pocket and a larger pocket that holds more necessities. It has all the space I need to go/from the gym and hold my clothes, toiletries, shoes, and my lunch for the day.I've also taken this traveling a few times, and I've been able to use this as a carry-on for a 4 day trip (plus a smaller personal size item) with no problems. The laptop compartment kept my 14" laptop and notebook snug and secure. I don't feel like I have to be delicate with this bag, and it's easy to wipe down in case something spills.My two little complaints are that the two side pockets are two narrow to fit my Nalgene waterbottle unless I place it in there just right to zip up the pocket all the way. A more narrow bottle would fit best in there. The other minor complaint is that when completely filled, it doesn't always stand up on its own, and it tends to fall forward.
