Review: Solid Temp Controler device - This is a unsolicited review of the flameboss 400 and i rarely write reviews. This device is on the expensive side but it works very well. In fact, it almost feels like cheating when using it on my Weber Smokey Mountain. The WSM does hold temps fairly well once you learn vent control but the flameboss 400 takes it to another level. Setup was a breeze. Download the app, connect to the flameboss, set your temps for pit and meat and off you go. It took about 3 min. to attach the metal kit adapter to my wsm. I mainly wanted this device to aid in long low and slow cooks thru the night and the flameboss was rock solid. It maintained 225 for 8 hours within a plus and minus 3 degree of target temp. (just as good as my pellet grill). I wanted to bump temps up to 250 and within 10 min. it was there. Had to run a to store and reset temp to 225 and it took 20 min. to reduce temp and then maintain at 250. The app has been flawless and I have monitored cooks while bowling and when running around doing chores. I use BB briquets for long cooks in the wsm and believe the flameboss helped with the overall efficiency of fuel usage. Time will tell how durable the product will be but for now I'm very happy with it. There are several good youtube videos on this product that are worth looking at for more in-depth information.
Review: Huge waste of money on a stick burner. - At first glance I was ecstatic that there was a solution to a long night smoke without me spending hours watching my pit. Little did i know that this product was a huge waste of money. From the start I had connectivity issues and the fan would literally wait for a 30 degree difference between it would even kick on, someone's even more!. I own a slightly modified char griller smokin champ that I thought would have definately benefited from this fan but wow was I wrong. I would like the thing if i was able to control the fan through the app but you can't even do that. I will definately be returning this because as much as I spent on this, for only a few dollars MORE, I could have bought another controller that would have worked. Maybe this will work on a kettle style grill or Smokey mountain but this was a waste of time for my stick burner.

**Q: How tight is the temperature control range?**
A: Hi Clint, our Flame Boss 400-WiFi Smoker Controller (Steel Smoker Kit) is specifically designed to maintain a consistent pit temperature over long periods of time with our patented algorithm. The set temperature range on the FB400 is between 100-450°F. Our FB400 is designed to be used on long low & slow indirect cooks only.

**Q: Does this fit the oklahoma joe bronco barrel smoker?**
A: As long as the majority of the vent is covered by a 6” steel dish it should work.

**Q: Will this work with the Weber Kettle?**
A: Absolutely!  It comes with the adapter for the kettle and another for the WSM - HOWEVER - you will have to drill a hole in your kettle base for the adapter!  It's about a 1" hole and there's no going backwards from there.  
I put my hole below the charcoal grate but above the ash sweeper line, it works awesome!  Im away from the house right now but have a brisket cooking and can monitor and adjust temps from anywhere, I love it!

**Q: Will this work with the Humpherys battle box smoker?**
A: Hi Dan, The Flame Boss 400-WiFi Controller (Steel Smoker Kit) wich has a 12.8 CFM blower, fits Many Drum, Barrel, Cabinet, and Offset Style Charcoal Grills and Smokers, including your Humphries Battle Box. Our Flame Boss 500-WiFi Controller (Steel Smoker Kit), which has a higher output 21 CFM blower, also works with the Humphries Battle Box.

This wifi smoker is superb! A bit pricey but it makes smoking and grilling a piece of cake!!! I use it on a Weber 18.5” Smokehouse and the only thing I need to do is to add more lump coal and wood when I see the fan output at 100% and the grill temperature keeps falling. It’s perfect! Had some initially connectivity issues but that was likely due to the location of my wifi router. It’s nice to be able to monitor the grill and meat temperatures from the warmth of your home when it’s raining or freezing outside!!!! Worth every penny!
