How to wrap: Alway keep hydrated. Drink water or decafeinated or light herbal tea. Neither iced nor too hot. Mix about 250 ml of Torf moor mud with warm pure water (you could use green tea or coconut milk) and few drops of essential oil if desired. The mix should be smooth and creamy paste for an easy application. Brush the paste on the body in an even layer starting from the feet up. Wrap the body in a plastic sheet, linen and a heated blanket (several blankets or steam tent will also work) and rest for 30 minutes. If you are doing a compression wrap, use presoaked ACE bandages instead. Unwrap the sheets and remove mud gently under shower. If possible do not use a soap as botanical and mineral residue left on skin can futher enhance the treatment (when detoxing, wash well) A period of rest of approximately 1/2 to 1 hour is recommended to support the metabolism-accelerating effect. Make sure the body stay comfortably warm. Drink plenty of water or decaffeinated tea immediately after the wrap and for the next 24 hours. Now in all my reading about Candida, everyone emphasizes that Candida puts out an enormous number of toxic chemicals which end up dumped into your body. Every Candida regime ends by recommending a detoxification once their Candida is gone.detoxification is an enormous topic. It involves the skin, sweat glands, lymph system, liver, the gut, the kidneys and who knows how much more.the first thing to do as part of an anti-Candida detox, is to use milk thistle. it supports the liver, and helps increase its function. I've noticed it increases the efficiency of all the other detox methods I've tried . Which leads to bathing. bathing is a wonderful way to detox the skin and the sweat glands. Warm baths will open up the pores and you will exchange toxic chemicals and hopefully replace them with more beneficial chemicals in your bath salts.What's a beneficial chemical that you should look for in your bath salts? Epsom salts have magnesium a highly desirable mineral. Baking soda while it does a great job softening the skin so you can exfoliate properly (important) , sodium bicarbonate is not high on the list of vital nutrients.Toors mud has a reputation as a healthy hydrotherapy tool for at least a century . A professor of hydrotherapy at a medical school was very impressed with this mud and he attributes the healthy effects to the presence of magnesium, calcium and sulfur plus other compounds. If you're interested in detoxing or destressing these are highly critical minerals that maybe difficult to supplement. In addition the mud induces an intensified heat shock reaction.The heat shock reaction generates a class of proteins called heat shock proteins. Heat shock proteins will go out and rescue your other proteins before they can unfold from poor conditions like high heat. Because they are induced by episodes of stress like high heat (sweating from a hot bath/sauna), cold shock ( a two-minute cold shower should feel refreshing. Shivering means you've gone too far ), fever from infections, famine or fasting. Certain foods will induce heat shock proteins, such as capsaicin. Because the heat shock proteins are a signal of possible bad times, their presence will reset the metabolism; there's been some clinical evidence that shows these types of stress can reduce diabetes or reset your body weight to a lower healthier set point. In addition it's been found that heat shock proteins are required for the regular function of mitochondria which suggests that brief transient forms of stress are necessary for the human body to function optimally.You use the mud by putting a cup into a tub of comfortably warm water. You should begin sweating if you experience a sharp strong heat shock reaction. I didn't get a strong heat shock reaction, but the fingers and toes started tingling and continue to tingle as long as I remained in the water. I also got a rather peculiar, restless legs sensation which cut short the session at 20 minutes. I found I received a more intense reaction if I used half a tub of water, not a full tub.It took almost a full 24 hours to see the results. Compared to regular baths, Epson salt baths, or baking soda soaks , the Toor mud works better. Basically, the next day after the mudbath, I had less green stuff under my skin than the day before. After the regular baths, the next day I had just as much as when I started.As for mud, I was better off using one cup of the mud in a full tub of warm water and staying in it for about 75 minutes versus one cup in half a tub of water and scooting out at 20 minutes. I'm pretty sure more time is always better here .There are other benefits of using this particular mud, such as its ability to stimulate the immune system but I don't have any personal comment.What's the downside of using this approach? Per bath, it's rather expensive. And you must sit in a bathtub for as long as you can stand it . It went above my expectations, 30 minutes ina hot tub with a heaped, handful scoop of this (makes your heart race and you can feel quite disorientated afterwards so ly down somewhere warm and rest for an hour or 2, or get out if it gets unbearable). I’m used to it from Epsom detox baths. This mud... it makes you sweat, opens up detox pathways, brings down inflammation, gives your body mega nutrients it desperately needs (minerals, fulvic humid acid, magnesium, calcium, sulphur). Major body building blocks, It’s just wonderful! It made areas where I had pain and inflammation tingle and then feel recovering afterwards. A long lasting sense of well-being remains after these baths, worth every penny. Raving about it! It says 6-8 baths but it’s more likely 4-5 per 2lb tub. This is the best price I could find to get it internationally delivered and it arrived 3 days later, great condition, good packaging. Wonderful wonderful glorious rejuvenating mud! Does not cause break-outs or rashes.I really liked it for both direct application and in bath.
