I have a Vortex 10X42, but I replaced the "mono eyepiece covers" with Vortex #5 individual snap open eye piece protectors. that increased their length to about 61/4". I have easily 1/2'' to 1" left for expansion in length. But! measure the width of your binoculars. My binoculars are 41/8' top and 41/2" at the widest, with 3/8" extra protection in width, each side and 1/2" extra protection on each side of the widest part of the lens. I think that would be minimal /ideal protection from rain and dust. The X pattern back is superior to the single vertical support type that they sell. Its much more stable, sways less! **Q: Do you have to keep the binoculars inside a case to use it?** A: I'm confused on your question, but you must remove the binoculars from the case to use them, yes. It is a harness that keeps the bino's close to your body for when you are stalking with a bow, want to protect them, etc, but the system allows protection of them while they are not in use. **Q: Do the straps get in the way when putting your rifle to your shoulder?** A: I wear my LockDown X under any outer garment or jacket that I might need to be wearing. The straps lie inside (i.e., closer to the vertical centreline of my chest) of where I mount the butt of a rifle and do not interfere with the process in any way that I am conscious of. **Q: Looking for a easy carrying harness for a Nikon pro** A: I have the S4 Gear Lockdown X harness. it works really well for small to medium size binoculars and provides a stable carry, protection for the eyepiece and objective lenses and easy one-handed deployment. This harness nails it, folks! It is Comfortable, Practical and Technically Well Designed. All of the weight is distributed away from my neck through the other strap pathways. I can carry the binocs high on my chest where they stay without bouncing around. When the binoculars are put to use, the secure lines from the straps near the top of the shoulders to the holdfasts on the binocular barrels are long enough to be out of my way with no tension when viewing, and short enough to allow the binoculars to hang past the chest case when resting. When ready to move again, the binocs slip back into the chest casing easily and securely with hardly any effort. Great design, great idea, great execution! I'm returning the nearly useless Zeiss brand harness I first purchased before trying the LockDown X harness! I don't think I'll ever use the neck strap again either. Quality seems good, time will tell but initially I'm very happy. The only downside, and why I didn't give it 5 stars is that it does not work well with wide binocs. The bottom and top flaps should have sides of some sort - maybe elastic.
