**Q: What is the difference between flat and pointed end screws?**
A: Flat ended screws need a pilot hole to screw into. Sharp ended screws called self-tapping can be drilled directly into sheet-metal without a pilot hole tapped. Regular pointed screws can drill directly through thin sheet-metal but need a small pilot hole for thicker sheets.

**Q: Are these suitable for automotive applications to use as ground screws?**
A: Yes,  they work great.  Just be cautious about how thick the material you are screwing into,  if to thick you may need to pre-drill otherwise you may break off the screw.

**Q: Can these be used for hvac systems?**
A: I used them to attach vinyl siding to metal frame building. The drill ends were very efficient to drill thru the metal hat channel. They should work on the thinner HVAC sheet metal. With the thinner metal you have to be very careful to not over tighten.
