You don't have to worry about flour & such getting into buttons & it can easily be cleaned. The measurement unit can also be easily changed. This is nice since many of my recipe books use different units (some are European). It's easy to zero and it's fairly small, so it's easy to store & takes 3 AAA batteries. One complaint, and it's fairly significant, is that it will randomly shut off. So if you are measuring multiple ingredients in one single bowl, and it suddenly shuts off, you lose your current measurement and as you know you cannot unmix ingrediants. I would recommend measuring ingredients separately and then once measured, add each to a large combined bowl. Other than that, this scale is perfect. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful disaster. If it didn’t have 2 unforgivable problems, I might have kept it. These issues relate to coffee making, but also might bother many other users, or might not.Unforgivable issue 1: The time out happens way too fast, even while adding ingredients. Doing a large 2 person pour over it auto shutoff mid pour?!, it was less than 30 seconds. This means you lose your tare weight and can’t use this for pour over coffee really at all.Unforgivable issue 2: Poor accuracy, scale measures same item +- 5 grams. Example, weighs coffee pour over setup at 440 grams then reweighs it at 447. Slowly adding beans jumps the scale from 19 grams to 22 grams. Even adding 1 bean at a time. If you want to use this scale for small measurements a glass bowl to hold your ingredients, don’t bother.*Scale was tested on glass top counter, and I use scales in my work, user error isn’t an issue.I seriously wanted to love this thing, even as I write this now, I am changing out the batteries with even newer ones in an against all logic hope that this is a power supply issue…. To zero surprise no improvement on any issues. Could I have gotten a "bad" one, maybe. It doesn't address my primary issue of auto shut off even while actively being used, which is crazy.Yes, it is “cheap”, but I have several other $20 scales that I would bet my health and safety on. They are just spot on every time, but ugly and fat and not a smooth top.
