If using in a hoop skirt, don't sew in; use bias tape or ribbon as a channel, and make sure to work with the curve of the product from the roll. You can sew with a denim needle on your sewing machine, but it is difficult to sew a straight line and if using for hoops you will need to overlap the seam so it doesn't bend weirdly. Also, you may have to double the length in each hoop, or just put more hoops in your design to be sturdy enough. I used silk skirts on top which is lightweight. Cotton and lightweight linen might be ok too, but don't use this if you're making a hoop skirt to go under layers and layers of satin, wool, or upholstery fabric. Still it is loads cheaper than the retail nylon stuff sold in fabric stores or the sprung steel that is traditional. Makes a very "squishy" hoop skirt, which is nice to get through doorways with.
