Firmware updates are available on their website, free, open access, no problems. This unit's just plain easy to use. Under the hood, it's a Linux box, so it's easy from shell to validate what's going on or to recover from its own serial console if you typo an IP in setup. The GUI is great. It recognizes USB serial consoles and adapters perfectly, remembers them, and lets you assign them to a console number. No more having to wonder what position that USB console came up in. The serial auto-detect mode is fantastic. You can use Cisco rolled cables, straight through Ethernet, crossover Ethernet, almost any standard cable and it figures it out in a couple of taps of the Enter key. IPChains is on the box to lock it down. A full internal AAA system is present or you can point it to external AAA services. You can have a mix of reverse flow monitored console ports over telnet or raw TCP, and ssh-access ports. Ports can be logged, shared, monitored. Smarts for a variety of power distribution/control systems are in here as well.
