My husband made a guide for it to slide back and forth. (see picture). It's a 1 x 2 with a groove cut into it. He then attached it to a laminated board for me and it works great! It has a smooth slide along the groove and makes straight cuts. It makes my cuts so much easier, cleaner and straighter than free hand- of course- and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. The Glastar groove fits perfectly inside the groove of the Bora aluminum plate as if they were designed to be one product. I had problems *by H***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2015* You have to build a wooden base. If you have basic carpentry skills you'll probably do fine. I had problems. I got the wooden pieces cut as instructed at my local Home Depot. I bought wood screws. I tried driving in the screws with a power drill. One of the screws hit a knot and wouldn't go all the way in. It was then stripped after several attempts to remove it. I had to go back to HD and get the entire 1"x 2" cut off. The top of the 1" x 2" has to be perfectly smooth for the strip cutter to glide across. The screw heads can't stick up at all. I bought wood glue and clamps and attached a fresh 1x2 to the base. This worked great.
