I have a small gas fire pit that I wanted to use on my deck. I wanted to make sure that the heat from the fire pit didn't damage my expensive decking material and this mat was the perfect solution. As several others mentioned (thanks guys) you have to be very gentle moving it around as I can see how others have broken or torn their mats. For me, this has not been an issue. The item was packed VERY good by the seller and arrived in perfect condition. I've been very careful handling it and moving it around.
