In his literary genius, CS Lewis, primarily a philosopher just creates a wonderful world within a world in which children can let loose their imagination and have wonderful characters and role models to grow up with in a creation that at the same time caters to the level of a child's comprehension at yet prepares them for the larger world in which they will soon find themselves in. I read this as an adult and it was no less fascinating for me, apart from a few sections through which I had to flip the pages in order to get to the next part of the plot. But I can imagine soaking it all in as a child, even the descriptive parts of this world of his creation. Bought as an investment as I'm hoping my son will love them as much as I did. he's a little young for them at the moment.
