Once tile was added the handle was too just a tad short to make a secure connection so it was suggested to buy one of these to address the issue. Sure enough, it solve the problem and the new Forte handle can be installed. It's pretty expensive for what it is but I guess it beats the alternative of reworking the existing plumbing. I called Kohler to ask them What was the piece that I needed to extend my shower valve which stayed behind the tile during the bathroom remodelation and they instructed I needed the piece above for the referenced valve. This is perfect if you’re looking to extend the shower valve. Note: I previously bought Kohler rubicon K-R76217-4G-CP and the extension corresponds to this product. My plumber had no problem installing and everything worked out. I suggest buying on desertcart as Kohler sells it for a higher price including shipping.
