The thin-ness (0.8mm) makes it not to interfere with my upper limits of grind dose, compared to the old mesh screen of over 2mm ones. Cleaning is much easier too, and don't have to worry about what grimes built up inside. Over all it distribute the water flow well both pre-infusion and actual pulling that espresso shot comes out smoothly without any noticeable channeling. Please study the hole pattern though. I think 51mm and 58mm spreads out the pattern pretty well but for 54mm it looks like holes don't go as far outside.
