I didnt measure the back clearence that well. But I cut a small square in the fiberglass in the back and it fits perfectly.I used Marine Seal for around the mounting plate. These came with a metal CHROME bezel and this light simply snaps into that bezel once you secure it. I used rivets to secure mine. Lights are very bright and not as expensive as the $25-35 each other NAME BRANDED lights on the market. These are just as good if not better. Brightness is EXCELLENT!!
