I'm in NE Washington and one camera that has a solar panel facing south stays 96-100% even in winter where the days are short and the sun doesn't get very high. The other camera is on the north side of the house and is angled toward the east. This camera maintains a charge 3 seasons out of the year, but in winter loses about 2% per day with normal use, unless the deer are messing around setting it off, then it is more like 4%. Snow causes some issues, which is why they are angled a bit more than what is ideal. The north side camera struggles because it never really gets direct sun in the winter. Ideally you want the panels angled toward the part of the sky that the sun spends the most time in. Frankly I haven't been disappointed with the solar recharging or battery life in general. **Q: What is the difference between the regular Argus and the Argus 2** A: The primary difference is the night vision capability. The Argus Pro, uses IR night vision (basically old these days and black and white only) while the Argus 2 uses IR w/ starlight tech to be able to amplify the low light that's available and provide a brighter & clearer image that's more true to life, so to speak.
