Pushing against a strike or holding incorrectly may result in injury to the mitt holder and/or striker. But when held with proper technique the mitt does a great job of absorbing the force of a strike without harming the holder. **Q: Where is this made/manufactured?** A: NOt sure of the manufacture, but it has been a great product for training specific elements and combinations in certain platforms. Definitely not something for an MMA Gym or boxing , but it does works well with TKD spin kicks and more speed related techniques **Q: How is this on the holders wrist and elbo when it gets hit?** A: It can be intense depending on how hard the puncher is. The energy from any straight punches is transfered to the holders wrist and elbo, while the energy from hooks are transfered to the holders shoulder. So you will definitely feel it in your wrist, elbow, & shoulder. It does exactly what the seller says. There were two things about it that didn't fit my personal preference: 1. The plastic was significantly "stiffer" than I anticipated. I was expecting it to be like a Century Bob. It's "plastic-ier" than that. 2. The facial features seemed to me and several others who looked at it to be those of a particular ethnic minority. It doesn't affect the usefulness of this as a training aid in any way. But if you're using these in any kind of public presentations, be prepared for that "one guy" who might say "those are racist." Again, this is just a personal observation. You may not see it. And, again, I'm sure these work well for training.
