Review: Price/Quality ratio - Is the increase in quality worth the increase in cost? You could easily pay much more than twice the money for a pair of binoculars that are only a few percent higher in quality (insert luxury jewelry company name here), and these are twice the price of my Monarchs, better, but definitely not twice as good. It all depends on you. I like that you can focus down to about 5 feet. There was a question about whether they come with a strap, yes! and lens caps and a case. C'mon, really, when was the last time you saw a $1,000 pair of binoculars that didn't come with a strap? And it's comfortable.

The much cheaper Zeiss Terra were as sharp as the Leicas, seem to be as good gathering light, and with a much better focusing knob, very precise and faster to focus, and the build quality feels the same. For years I wanted a pair of Leicas and paid for them as I expected an extraordinary and much better experience. But there are better options at less than the half price. Happily I am returning them. If their price were around $500 I would keep them, but at over $1000 no way they give you twice a better experience.

Is the increase in quality worth the increase in cost? You could easily pay much more than twice the money for a pair of binoculars that are only a few percent higher in quality (insert luxury jewelry company name here), and these are twice the price of my Monarchs, better, but definitely not twice as good. It all depends on you. I like that you can focus down to about 5 feet. There was a question about whether they come with a strap, yes! and lens caps and a case. C'mon, really, when was the last time you saw a $1,000 pair of binoculars that didn't come with a strap? And it's comfortable.
