Once I found the right spot, I did it for each number. Then I tested 10 combinations. One of them worked so I have given the boxes back to him since I have no need for these. The steel is flexible and does bend so you have to be cautious. I tried to use it as a shim for a padlock but it didn’t work, and the steel bent a little. You should only be using these on your own locks, not locks that you don’t own.
