Shipping was faster than promised, so you may not be able to postpone the weekend chores when this shows up on Friday instead of next Tuesday.The head of the rake slides down onto the shaft with a satisfying thunk, Don't worry about it not being permanently fixed to the shaft, these things are super stable, and handy to break down and store. If you break a blade by chipping at granite, or some such thing, they will sell you another to rivet back in place. I love it. Better than a regular garden rake or hoe because this thing is not messing about. Roots? Please.
