## Description

Pilot fount pen CON-70 converter

Review: Great Ink Capacity and No Dry Starts. This Converter Just Works! - For me, the Pilot Custom 743 just may be the perfect pen. Substantially the same design and the same nib of the much-vaunted Custom 823, but with a converter instead of the vacuum fill. I don't want a converter so small that I have to fill it after practically every writing session. Still, to paraphrase a 16th Century Italian playwright, 'One should do with lovers exactly as one does with ink colours*: Have many, enjoy them one at a time, and change often.' The CON-70 strikes the perfect balance between ink capacity and change frequency. It fills just fine through the nib and the button, but I find it less messy and more efficient to fill from an ink syringe (easily found on desertcart; I use a 1" needle). Filling from a syringe can lead to dry starts with cheaper pens or different converters, but with the CON-70 and No. 15 nib of the Custom 743 the ink flows immediately and it always writes like a dream without issue. I've seen some people recommend a different converter for each ink colour to avoid transfer issues. I simply use a longer syringe (3-4" needle that can extend to the very back of the converter, pictured) and completely flush out the nib and converter with water between fills. That can leave small water droplets in the CON-70 that could (in theory) dilute the ink in your next fill; you can either blow it out with compressed air or I just leave it to dry overnight. If you want to refill right away, it will likely be just fine a bit wet, or just have a spare CON-70 in reserve (hence why you are here!) The Pilot Custom 743, paired with the CON-70, more than live up to the hype. Happy writing! *the original quote says 'clothes' here. But it holds true for fountain pens, so Guarini will forgive me.
Review: Perfecto - Fits my EF Kakuno perfectly. Filled up like a gem. The large volume is compatible to the cartridge but I now have the freedoms to swap ink. Easy to wash out w warm water. Getting another one.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this converter fit the Pilot Metropolitan?**
A: The Pilot CON-70 converter WILL NOT FIT the Pilot Metropolitan pen. Fortunately, this excellent converter will DEFINITELY fit the following PILOT Fountain pens (which I own):
1) Pilot Kakuno (superb fountain pen with the same NIB used in the more expensive Metropolitan and Prera series of fountain pens). BTW: The Kakuno is available with Extra-Fine, Fine, and Medium nib sizes. High Quality at a low price.
2) Pilot Explorer - another SUPERB model with the trademark smooth stainless steel nib. Nibs available are limited to FINE and MEDIUM.
3) The Pilot 912, which sports a GOLD NIB. The 912 is available in a huge variety of nib sizes, ranging from FINE and going up to Broad, Calligraphy, and the „Music“ nib (used by musicians to document/write music).

**Q: would this fit in Parellel Pens?**
A: No. This converter is too large for a Pilot Parallel. It's for the much bigger Pilot pens like the Custom Heritage 912, Justus, and Metal Falcon. If you want a converter for Pilot Parallel Pens you should look at the CON-20 or the CON-50 converters.

**Q: Does this device allow for cheaper ink refills for the Pilot Parallel Caligraphy Pens? I'm a bit confused on what this does exactly. Thanks.**
A: yes! sorry for the very late response, but what this device does is turn the parallel into a refillable pen that you can use with bottled fountain pen ink.
the squeeze converter (the con-20, a little bladder that you can squeeze) that usually comes with the parallel does the same thing, this is just a different operating mechanism.

**Q: Wondering if this will fit the namiki falcon?**
A: No, it will not fit the Falcon.
